Driving In

Detroit Area:

Proceed to I-75 North toward Saginaw and continue North on I-75 to Gaylord, MI. (approximately 230 miles)
Take the MI-32 exit, EXIT 282, toward Alpena/Gaylord.
Turn left onto W Main St/I-75 Bus N/MI-32.
Stay straight to go onto W. Main St/MI-32.
Continue to follow MI-32 for 13 miles.
Turn right onto US-131 N. Continue to follow US-131 N. for 8 miles.
Turn left onto M-75 at Boyne Falls. Continue to follow M-75 for 5 miles.
Turn left on E. Division Street just past McDonald’s and Van Dam Custom Boats is the second building on the left.

Grand Rapids Area:

Proceed north on US-131 N for approximately 170 miles.

We are fortunate to be able to design and build a wide variety of custom wooden boats. We offer no pre-priced options or base model pricing. As a result, costing is handled on a per client basis based on vision and needed functionality. Please contact our Sales Team for more information.

As we are a completely custom builder, and each build is curated to the wants and needs of each customer, timing can vary per approved design specifications. Please speak with our Sales Team for current timing on build schedules and deliveries.

Our builds travel to destinations throughout the United States and beyond. Whether fresh or salt water, a Van Dam is unique in any port and they have called many home.

We are 100% committed to the task at hand. Our full attention is respectfully given to each build as we are accountable for time spent during production. Beyond ensuring the success and learning of our Apprentices and executing on a perfect build, we unfortunately do not offer instruction.

The team at Van Dam is amenable to several options on the journey to a finalized design. We can accept plans from you that have been prepared by other designers or we will work with you directly on the vision and design of your boat.
