Van Dam presents a crisp 25’ Utility
Runabout penned for the Lakeland waters of Northern Michigan. She’s
designed with ample freeboard to keep everyone dry, and plenty of cockpit
space to move about. With room for 6 comfortably, back to back seating
up forward allows easy conversation when underway.
The design is flexible so other seating
and arrangement options are envisioned. The addition of a wet bar
would be great for entertaining and the motor box creates a perfect place
to set out hors d'oeuvres. For warmer climates a well-styled and
removable sun top can be fit to cover the forward seats. Another
option is a fixed frame rag top version to really extend the boating season.
Van Dam’s time-tested and legendary craftsmanship in cold-molded wooden construction ensures longevity, and makes for little maintenance while allowing the boat to be moved and stored on a trailer.
Powered with a small block V8 this little
utility will be efficient, quick, and have the beautiful rumble of an American
V8. Painted or bright topsides and a plethora of choices available
for her interior make this one design unique to each and every client.

This classically styled sedan with 32 ft. LOA and 10 ft. beam proportions will sleep 2 adults comfortably in the V berth, and her large U lounge in the cockpit could be filled in to create another berth. Her cabin provides a full enclosed head to starboard and galley with standing headroom to port with a generous settee just aft of the V berth. Her hardtop extends aft far enough to provide generous shelter from the elements and can have canvas attached to enclose the entire cockpit for camping or inclement weather.
She can be fitted out simply or adorned with intricate joinery details, depending on the client’s tastes. She’ll be powered with a pair of Yanmar’s new 260 h.p. diesels which will give her a comfortable cruise in the low 20 mph range and top out in the low 40’s. 125 gallons of fuel with the capacity for auxiliary tanks will give her a useful range of approximately 150 miles or more with auxiliary fuel. Additionally, her hull can be fitted with propeller tunnels thereby reducing her draft to roughly 2 ft. to the bottom of the skeg.
Either painted or bright topsides would be very attractive on this design and would showcase the beautiful craftsmanship Van Dam is well known for.

Classic Italian styling defines the latest creation from Van Dam. Soft flowing lines and rolled corners of bright finished Mahogany will turn heads wherever she goes. The 8 ft. 10 in. beam allows for the installation of a beautifully detailed Ilmor Viper V10 engine of 625 h.p. Her propeller tunnel keeps the draft under 2 ft., and improves the ride and performance, while a bow thruster makes docking a breeze. A swim platform aft and steps cut into the transom allow easy boarding for swimming and skiing. Back to back loungers facilitate watching skiers and are nice for casual conversation. The generous wrapped aft seat and the forward seats provide storage and a built-in cooler below. A ski locker adds storage in the sole, and below the foredeck there’s ample storage for lots more.
Stogie II

Simply stated, Stogie II turns heads. Sleek, long, powerful and very fast she’s a careful blend of classic styling and state of the art propulsion and hull design. The heady rumble of her twin 496 High Output V8’s through stainless exhausts is sure to please the performance crowd. Stogie II is the embodiment of the spirit of the classic Gold Cup racer.
Typical of Van Dam’s exquisite styling and superb craftsmanship she is built using techniques which eliminate leaky bottoms and shrinking or swelling planks. Stogie II can be hung from her two lifting eyes in a boathouse or stored on a trailer and used without hesitation when she touches the water. A bow and optional stern thruster make handling tight quarters a snap. Propeller tunnels allow her into some skinny water. With seating for five adults in the main cockpit plus two in the mother-in law seat Stogie II provides fun for the whole family. A 150 gallon fuel capacity provides excellent range for exploring distant harbors.
