During the early part of the last century, business moguls were often portrayed with a stogie held tightly in their mouths; evidence of their power and position. That same blend of tough masculinity is evident in this “gentleman’s racer,” styled by Van Dam to be reminiscent of some of George Crouch’s 1920’s Gold Cup Challenge race boats.
The brash, free-spirited power is immediately evident in both the sight and sound of Stogie. Specially selected Honduras mahogany is carefully fit in her hull and deck, providing the framework for custom stainless steel and chromed bronze hardware.
Two modern 502 cubic inch V8 engines hide beneath her hatches, ready at the turn of a key to generate the thunderous speed of the classic racer.
Though the cigar has been replaced as an icon of power and position in the world of business, Stogie will undoubtedly continue to be a celebrated symbol of nautical prestige.
