Experienced Team Member Wanted – Purchasing Manager – Part Time
Van Dam Custom Boats, one of the world’s premier wooden boat builders is seeking a part time team member to oversee purchasing efforts of the company.
The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience in either the manufacturing industry, construction industry or a marine service department at a mid size marina. Any experience with related trades such as wood working, metal working, finishing and mechanical or electrical systems is a plus.
The primary role of this position will be overseeing the inventory and purchasing efforts for the entire company. Responsibilities will include overseeing the organization and development of the purchasing system, making sure that parts are on site and organized when the crews need them as well as properly billed and allocated to appropriate projects. Experience with LEAN practices is a plus! The need for initial industry knowledge of boat building will be minimized as we will provide resources for you to tap into until your knowledge level expands.
