2024 Concepts Available to Commission: From a 70-Foot Trawler to a 32-Foot Cocktail Cruiser
Van Dam develops concepts internally — design work completed without a specific owner, waiting for the right person to bring them to life.
The advantage: key decisions are already made. The structural thinking, the hull form, the general direction of the design. What remains is the creative collaboration — materials, finishes, technology, and all the personal choices that make a boat uniquely yours.
In 2024, three concepts are available to commission.

VDCB 50 Motor Yacht — A 60%-Complete Wooden Motor Yacht
The most unusual opportunity on this list is a 50-foot wooden motor yacht that is already partially built.
Van Dam began construction on this vessel, but the original owner halted the project at roughly 60% completion. The boat includes high-end mechanical components already installed: twin Cummins QSC 8.3 diesel engines producing 1,200 HP combined, a 21.5kW Cummins generator, bow and stern thrusters, a Seakeeper 6, fuel tanks, custom exhaust, and a full HVAC system.
That’s a significant amount of the most expensive and technically complex work — already done. A new owner’s vision can take over from here. Van Dam’s design team has developed alternative layouts to help realize whatever that vision is.

VDCB 70 Trawler — An Expedition Boat With a Pilothouse Any Captain Would Envy
The 70-foot trawler concept draws inspiration from the forward presence and aggressive lines of Ulstein Anchor Handling Tugs — reinterpreted for a vessel designed for extended exploration with family and guests.
Features include a functional layout with 360-degree views, a pilothouse designed for serious offshore navigation, and creature comforts throughout for the days that aren’t about navigation at all. It’s the Van Dam version of an expedition yacht: purposeful on the outside, deeply comfortable within.
This is a concept in development — the right owner shapes what it becomes.

VDCB 32 Cocktail Cruiser — 1,000 HP in Classic Wood Lines
The 32-foot cocktail cruiser concept is designed to be the envy of anyone who sees it on the water — or steps aboard.
With the ability to accommodate 1,000 horsepower, it can reach a destination quickly or idle along while entertaining at leisure. Chilled bottle holders, dedicated glassware storage, hidden end tables, a cutting-edge sound system, and courtesy lighting throughout.
Fast enough to be exciting. Comfortable enough to stay all afternoon.
Starting From a Concept
Commissioning from an existing concept compresses the timeline meaningfully — the foundational design decisions are resolved, and the collaboration focuses immediately on expression and personalization.
