Certified Legends 2024: Van Dams Available Now — Including a Supercharged Performance Dayboat and 38-Foot Sedan Cruiser
The phrase “Van Dam for sale” is not one that comes up often.
These boats are built to be kept. Their owners tend to stay close to them — through seasons, through decades, through generations when the original owner can arrange it. When a Van Dam does come to market, it’s an event.
In 2024, several are available through the Certified Legends program.

Gonzo — A 2007 Performance Dayboat With Supercharged Power
Gonzo was purchased through the Certified Legends program in 2024, which means it has been through Van Dam’s full inspection and certification process.
It’s a performance dayboat powered by twin aluminum small-block engines with a pair of Whipple superchargers — a combination that delivers raw, modern performance wrapped in the traditional materials and timeless look that define a Van Dam. Built in 2007, she beautifully blends classic proportions with a powerplant that doesn’t apologize for itself.

Luv N It — A 36-Foot Three-Season Dayboat, Just Refinished
Built in 2015, Luv N It is a 36-foot three-season dayboat with a single owner and exceptional provenance. She’s powered by twin 5.7L Ilmor engines producing 640 HP combined.
The headline for 2024: a complete exterior refinish completed in the winter of 2024 brings her back to new-build presentation. One owner. Full service history. Fresh finish. Rare.

Silvan — Van Dam Hull #1, Built 1980
Silvan was Jean and Steve Van Dam’s first commissioned boat, launched in 1980. A 30-foot sailboat that began her journey in the Midwest, made her way to Southern California, and now returns to Boyne City ready for a new chapter.
Ready for a thoughtful refit, she’s for a buyer who understands what they’re looking at. More than a boat, she’s the beginning of a 47-year story of wooden boatbuilding, and an appreciating asset for anyone serious about maritime history and craftsmanship.

How Swede It Is — A Turn-Key 38-Foot Sedan Cruiser
Built in 2003 and comprehensively refitted in 2021, How Swede It Is is a 38-foot Sedan Cruiser powered by twin Yanmar 440-HP diesels with a cruising range of 350 miles. At 16,500 lbs of displacement and 11’6″ of beam, she’s a serious vessel — and the 2021 refit makes her completely turn-key for her next adventure.

2024 Featured Icon: Chiara
Each year, Van Dam highlights one exceptional boat from their portfolio as the Featured Icon — a celebration of what the company’s craft has produced over nearly five decades.
The 2024 Featured Icon is Chiara, launched in 2005. A 43-foot dayboat powered by twin Volvo Penta diesels producing 620 HP combined, displacing 17,000 lbs across a 13’6″ beam.
What makes Chiara exceptional is her design language — a composite wooden construction that bridges traditional craft and contemporary aesthetics in a way that still looks current nearly twenty years after her launch. That’s the measure of a genuinely well-designed wooden boat.
