Daysailer Yacht Sailboat

PATRICIAN was born from a client’s vision for the perfect daysailer. He sought a vessel that embodied the traditional lines and timeless beauty of classic sailing yachts, paired with the performance and ease of a modern design—one that could be sailed single-handedly. To achieve this, Henry Scheel developed the hull lines and incorporated his patented keel into the underbody. Van Dam Custom Boats was entrusted with bringing PATRICIAN to life, giving Steve Van Dam the opportunity to showcase the exceptional skill and craftsmanship honed over more than twenty years of boatbuilding.

This wood composite vessel exemplifies the flawless joinery and impeccable finish for which Van Dam is renowned. Designed for year-round use, she stands as a testament to the durability and excellence of Van Dam’s approach to wooden boat construction. To ensure effortless single-handed sailing, the team engineered and installed a fully integrated electrical and hydraulic system, enabling all controls to be managed from the helm. Every detail was carefully refined in close collaboration with the owner, achieving the perfect harmony of aesthetics and functionality that defines a truly custom yacht.
