Derek
Craftsman
Derek, a northern Michigan native, is from Charlevoix, MI. He graduated from Petoskey High School in 2017. Derek completed a five-year Van Dam Apprenticeship Program in 2023. He also graduated from NCMC with an Associate of Arts and Certificate of Development in Machining Technology. Throughout all of that, Derek, with the help of friends and family, also built a home to live in with his wife.
Derek is an avid hunter of deer, squirrel and goose and also enjoys fishing at a level of ‘anything that bites’ being his favorite catch. He spends time on hobby projects like flying his own ultralight airplane, while slowly constructing another- an avid flyer model c. Derek also serves our community by being a trained volunteer firefighter.
