Gus
Boat Building Craftsperson
Gus was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Saugatuck, Michigan. His interest in hands-on work led him to Marine Trades Institute, where he completed both the Boat Building and Marine Technician programs and earned ABYC certifications in Fuel Systems, Marine Electrical, and Marine Systems. In the Van Dam shop, he especially enjoys projects that put his woodworking skills to work.
Gus and his girlfriend made the move to the Boyne area together when he joined the team. He has an older brother and a younger sister, and outside of work, you’ll find him playing hockey, heading out for a round of disc golf, or cheering on the Chicago Bears.
