Laurie
Human Resources Manager
Laurie brings many years of experience in human resources to the Van Dam team. Born and raised in Troy, Michigan, she now lives in Gaylord with her husband and three children. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and has worked in HR since 2004.
Laurie appreciates the welcoming atmosphere at Van Dam and especially enjoys arriving early in the morning to find the team already laughing, smiling, and ready for the day. Having experienced such a warm welcome herself, she looks forward to extending that same kindness to others.
Outside of work, Laurie stays busy with her children’s many activities, including basketball, flag football, jiu-jitsu, swimming, and theatre. Her husband also coaches their flag football team. When she’s not cheering on her kids, Laurie enjoys spending time with family, reading, walking, and listening to music. Their family also includes a German Shepherd named Maki and a cat named Sparkle.
