The Little Boat That Plays Big
Inspired by a drawing created by late Naval Architect, Frederick Ford. The design fell from a stack of family archives and was found by his daughter. His daughter committed to making her father’s dream come true. Naval Architect, Donald Blunt, and the design team at Van Dam Custom boats took Fred’s original 1971 design and created the plans for Dreamboat.
Dreamboat is capable of playing with boats much bigger than her own 39′ stature. Her twin Volvo IPS drives produce 600HP to cut through the waves of the Great Lakes. The joystick system makes this boat incredibly nimble and intuitive to use in close quarters. To eliminate boat roll, the Seakeeper keeps her steady while out on the big water. The lighting and Garmin electronics package are cutting edge, and the Czone system makes the lights and electrical systems completely customizable.
Initial launch and test runs of Dreamboat were held in October of 2021. After the owner had the opportunity to enjoy some fall days with her, Dreamboat came “home” to receive final interior work. Completion launch was held in May 2022.
