A Gold Cup Styled Gentleman’s Racer

The Van Dam team was asked to design and build a new gentleman’s racer that embodied some of the best features of the Gold Cup boats of the 1920’s. To answer that challenge, a classic round sheer and torpedo stern shape were drawn and then carefully proportioned to allow a cockpit with seating for four.

As found on some designs of that period, a raised coaming around the cockpit runs forward and frames the engine bay.

Custom polished stainless steel and chromed bronze hardware add to her classic look. Power comes from a custom built and tastefully presented small block Chevrolet.

Hand selected and matched mahogany planking, state of the art cold-molded construction, and beautiful joinery will ensure this racer provides summer fun for generations to come. A true Van Dam classic.
