Van Dam displays its design capabilities and legendary craftsmanship with this 38 ft. Sport Cruiser. Working with a client who asked for perfection in every detail, Van Dam rose to the challenge.

A curved glass windshield framed with mahogany is perched atop a curvaceous hull of laminated mahogany cut from a single log. The shapely stern flows into an integrated swim platform. This swim platform in turn is an integral part of the custom fabricated stainless steel steering system. Under the stern overhang are two innovative custom surface drives designed and fabricated by Van Dams. These drives are linked to two customized 440 hp turbo diesels which push her up to 65 mph and allow her to cruise effortlessly at 45 to 50 mph. With her bow thruster, maneuvering in a tight marina is effortless. Generous freeboard provides ample space in the cabin below for an overnight, and an 8’6” beam allows her to be trailered anywhere without permits.

The cockpit and the interior are filled with wood details that will impress the most discriminating viewer. With a signature, custom steering wheel and customized swivel seats, the captain sits in air conditioned comfort, yet has all the controls to run the boat at his fingertips. All this, and surrounded by the finest dynamic art too! For the “gearhead” the art does not stop in the cockpit. Susan C’s engine room is a masterpiece in mechanical excellence. From the customized engines to the complex electrical system, every detail is expertly executed and presented.

Susan C can move around the country on a commercial duty hydraulic trailer, customized by Van Dam, that allows her to be launched at many ramps inaccessible to boats of this size. This makes her “cruising range” practically unlimited. What a combo!!
